so i have been trying to celebrate Christmas lately, and it’s been really fun! I am actually home for Christmas vacation. Josh and I went shopping for my mom, which was super fun, and we even saw Alvin and the Chipmunks! I loved it! I’ve been watching many christmas movies, including Elf. I happen to think Elf ranks up there with White Chrtistmas. It is just amazing! Nothing beats Buddy the Elf! I’ve baked christmas cookies, wrapped presents, and watched my fair share of christmas movies. And my vacation has been pretty relaxing. So today, I decided to do something a little edgy to spice up my vacation. I pierced my nose…well, not actually. A friend of mine in WA suggested I would look pretty good with a pierced nose, and ever since, I’ve been really curious. So today, on my way home from church, I impulsively decided I wanted to test drive the idea. I steered the car to the nearest Wal-Mart and bought some small cellphone jewels. And I have been wearing one on my nose all day to see what I think. I actually really like it. I think it makes me look edgy and intriguing, but I don’t think I actually want to pierce my nose. I talked to my parents about it earlier, and they pretty much told me it was ugly and that I was a Satanist, but that’s ok. Even though I am not planning on actually piercing my nose, maybe God can use this to teach me and my family how to better understand people… how not to immediately jump to conclusions about someone based on how they look. And who knows, it could totally open doors for new evangelism opportunities. No matter what happens, I think bejeweling my nose could end up being a really interesting experience!

December 12, 2007
today has been one of those days. you know, the kind of days that are marked by great accomplishment. I was supposed to study hard-core today. I don’t know if it’s just because it’s the end of exams or because I’m sick, or maybe it’s because it’s 80 degrees outside on December 11, and my air conditioning isn’t working. But whatever the reason, I didn’t get a whole lot of studying done. I even unplugged my cable so that tv wouldn’t be a distraction. well, tv didn’t have to be a distraction. I sang; I did my nails; and after 4 hours I got through half of my exam material…oh, well. At least it’s beautiful. I love days like today. Even though they don’t turn out quite the way I planned, Jesus still finds really beautiful ways to surprise me-like through beautiful sunsets or a really amazing breeze or just the two of us having a really good conversation. So even though today wasn’t what I planned, I am really glad that the Lord directs my steps
Back to studying….
